It is very unpleasant when we find a large number of files scattered in a folder. It can happen when we install a new application or when we can not be bothered with sorting files and we just throw them into a folder. FileToFolder gives you the possibility of sending multiple files to individual folders by using options from the context menu or a user friendly interface. Once you click the necessary option, the files will be moved instantly.

The application is free and it does not take long to install on a Windows powered computer. After running the 2.23 Mb setup kit, you will have to follow a series of simple instructions and the software will be ready to use in a few seconds.

The interface serves as a search engine. It will find any file, in a folder of your choosing, based on your own key words. You may also tick a few options to include sub-folders or create folders without moving the files. When the results list is populated with files, you can select one or more items and click the Folderize option on the toolbar. The selected files will be moved to separate folders, with the same names as the files. If you target two files with the same name, but different extensions, they will be moved into the same folder.

The easiest way to folderize your files is to use context menu options, which can be enabled by clicking a button, located on the interface's toolbar. You can select multiple files, in Windows Explorer, right click them and use the FileToFolder option in the context menu. Like before, the files will be moved immediately to their own folders.

When using the interface, you risk folderizing something you are not supposed to. This fact is acknowledged by the developers and this is why you will receive a warning message each time you load the interface. When performing a search, you can not select items from the system's partition (drive C:) and if you attempt to select the whole partition, a warning message will pop up, telling you that it is too risky.

Pros

FileToFolder will create and name folders automatically. Its context menu option can be enabled or disabled, in case it gets in your way. The software has a few safety features as well, which will prevent you from folderizing the wrong files and damaging your system.

Cons

It is not possible to move files to the same folder, unless they have the same name. Besides that, you need to select files with the same format, otherwise you will not find the File to Folder option in the context menu. FileToFolder enables you to move any number of files to individual folders with a single click, saving you valuable time and effort.
